Starting the New Year

After enjoying such a peaceful couple of weeks in the comfort of our home over the holidays, this week’s fire outbreaks in Southern California feel especially devastating. Some of our friends have tragically lost their homes and we are devastated for everyone who has suffered loss. Home is everything to us and our hearts are broken for those who have lost theirs.

Our holidays were sweet, simple and quiet and we wouldn’t have had it any other way. After spending a quiet Christmas at home, we rang in the New Year with our girls with a pretend ball drop at 9 pm and everyone was settled in bed by 9:30. Our kind of NYE celebration.

Just in time for a New Year’s refresh, the bedroom event is happening over at McGee & Co. The bedroom should be a space of peace and relaxation at the end of the day. My January musings are all about embracing a fresh start while keeping things warm and inviting. I love this time of year because it’s an opportunity to set the tone for everything ahead—whether it’s setting goals, creating vision boards, or simply refreshing my surroundings to reflect the energy I want to carry into the months to come. A palette of soft greens and grounding neutrals feels perfect for this, offering a clean yet cozy vibe. For me, it’s all about creating spaces that inspire productivity, focus, and calm, fueling my goal-oriented mindset as I step into the new year.
