01 Playful Office Space

Come with us for a quick trip across the pond to take in one of the most storied events in the sport of tennis. Here’s Syd and I’s whirlwind Wimbledon itinerary with Varley.

I’ve been working with the activewear brand Varley for the last couple of years and have been wearing their line of comfy/casual fashion for even longer. When they reached out and asked if I wanted to join them at Wimbledon this year, the answer was an easy one—I play tennis, I love watching tennis, and I love wearing Varley. It was a whirlwind of a trip, but a memorable week that I won’t soon forget.

01

Day One
Floral inspiration.

We took an overnight flight from Salt Lake City and spent the first day jet-lagged and happily (albeit deliriously) wandering the city. We stayed at Claridges, which is a London icon, and loved romanticizing its red brick exterior, Union Jack flags, and the best service. We visited the Rose Garden of Hyde Park for some floral inspiration and then straight to Pimlico Road to tour all of the design stores I source from in the States but don’t often get the opportunity to see in person. I left so inspired and loved seeing all of the shops with their massive fresh floral arrangements greeting shoppers. We wrapped the day with dinner at Padella, and my favorite dish, Cacio e Pepe.

“Florals are an endless source of inspiration when I am designing, from furniture products to interiors.”

Day Two
Visiting Varley.

Syd and I woke up early to go for a walk and hit the gym, and then visited the new Varley store in Chelsea. It’s the brand’s first European outpost and I loved taking in all of the beautiful interior details of the store design, as well as trying on the clothes themselves. I selected a white knit dress for Wimbledon and spent the afternoon shopping and exploring the city.

Day Three
An afternoon at Wimbledon.

Going to Wimbledon has been on my bucket list for quite a while and it lived up to every expectation. From the manicured grounds filled with boxwoods and hydrangeas to the strawberries and cream, and of course, the tennis. Syd and I stayed and watched every match on Centre Court until the very end to make the moment count. The weather was rainy and a bit cool, so I wanted to layer and be prepared for anything. I paired my knit Varley dress with a classic linen blazer and love that this dress is versatile enough to go from the beach to a Sky Suite at Wimbledon.

Day Four
Celebrating at Beaverbrook.

The next morning we went to the Victoria and Albert Museum before heading out of the city. Our last leg of the trip was spent celebrating my birthday a day early at Beaverbrook in the Surrey Hills. The estate! The gardens! The design! I just could not stop ooh-ing and ahh-ing over every last detail. I left feeling endlessly inspired by the imperfectly perfect gardens, upholstered walls, and thoughtful touches. Syd and I played tennis and pickleball, went on two hikes, and ate in a hot air balloon all within 18 hours, and still managed to leave relaxed and completely rejuvenated.
