Outdoor Spaces from the Studio McGee Archives

Al fresco living at its finest.

02 April –

Here at Studio McGee we love a good outdoor setup, and in honor of the summertime, we’re revisiting a few of our favorite spaces from the design archives. Browse and draw inspiration to build your own backyard into the space of your dreams.

When summertime hits we start opening the doors and heading for our backyards. From dramatic entryways under a canopy of trees to a cozy firepit and a long table for your closest friends and families, an outdoor space can double the square footage of your home and give you a space to relax in that has all the vibes. We opened up the design archives to share a few of our favorite spaces perfect for summertime fun.

Don’t forget to look up. Hanging lights or decorative accents from your garden or backyard trees is a great way to elevate the space.

Design Tip

Summery Stripes
Shop McGee & Co.

The Fontaine Melamine Dinner Plates are the perfect pairing for the subtle, summery stripes of the Melrose Tablecloth.

Hilltop Estate
Al fresco dining.

In our project, Hilltop Estate, the clients were a family who loved to entertain and enjoy the always-sunny weather of Southern California. Shea and the design team outfitted their outdoor space with numerous living areas, including this eight-person dining table and room to host. We love the raw wood tones against the glass and steel doors. Some of the other areas surrounding the pool are a cozy firepit with comfortable seating and a more formal courtyard.

Bring the Romance
Shop McGee & Co.

We love an outdoor tablescape that brings in vibes of romance and frills. Get inspired by this sweet setup and shop the look for yourself.
